Gavin Smellie is a former Team Canada sprinter, two-time Olympian, World Championship medalist, and community-minded coach whose journey reflects perseverance, discipline, and elite performance under pressure.
Born in St. Andrew, Jamaica and raised in Canada from age 14, Gavin rose from Toronto school athletics to an NCAA scholarship at Western Kentucky University, where he earned a Business Degree and sharpened the competitive edge that would carry him onto the global stage.
His career includes Olympic representation, a World Championship bronze medal, and a historic World Relay Championship gold for Canada. Now, through G Speed, he channels that experience into developing the next generation of athletes with structure, standards, and purpose.
